I mean, what's next, a degree in plumbing or hairdressing? Perhaps a degree as a burger flipper? Wassup with all the degrees in subjects that obviously have nothing to do with reading books or writing essays?

I am taking 17 hours now, and I am a little bored. I feel like I should be working harder. But I am taking classes during the summer, and they seem like they would be more intense/time consuming since the semester is shorter. So, how many hours do you think I should take? I want to relax a little during the summer, but at the same time I need to balance that with my free time (for me, boredom and/or lack of a challenge leads to depression, which leads to very bad things). Does anybody have any suggestions?

Using the quadratic equation to solve:

a^2 - 4a - 21 = 0
x = 8.123 & -13.175

m^2 + 4m - 5 =0
x=-1 & -6

x^2 = 9x =0
x= -13.5 & -4.5

x^2 + 2x = 0
x= -1 & -4

-x^2 = 6x -9=0
x=8.74 & -27

This is optional, but it would help me. If I'm wrong can you show your steps so I can see my mistake. Thanks for the help!

I learn visually, so tutorials through video's and/or college courses are the best for me...I really want to understand programming to build dynamic web site apps but I am really cautious since many tutorials start off above my head and I become discouraged (since I don't get it). I know I have to start at an entry level, I just can’t seem to find that entrance. I am picking RoR since I have read many state how efficient it is, meaning fast implementation without 1000’s of lines of coding. Thank you... :)

I see time and again how cuts are being made in education. PLUS the NCLB act has bascally ruined the edcuation system.
Teachers bring alot of work home. (unpaid)
The plus side is they get alot of vacation.
So , when weighing both sides...teachers,, would really like to see you son, daughter, sister, brother, mother, father, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece , or nephew go to college for four years and work in the field of Public Education?

since there are so many spanish speaking people in the U S do you feel that by law our children should be taught spanish in the schools.Because my daughter can't communicate with her other friends and she feels left out when her classmates can speak a laugage that she don't understand. The school she attends speak both American and Spanish. The school in California, some teach it as part of the program how do you feel. I am a mixed person and I can't communicate with my fathers people because I don't know the lauguage.What do you think and how can I make this a law. It's not fare for the American people to complain about the Mexicans, it's only because we can't communicate with eachother. Don't you feel the goverment should force the issue of teaching another laugange in our schools? Look at the Iranians they open up stores in the mexican name and they speak spanish. All other countries make it manditory for their people to speak another laugange and English. Please answer me.

Alright so since you guys helped me oh so well with my first problem, why not try again? So heres my question. Roger is breeding tropical fish to sell to hobbyists. He finds that his supply curve looks like y1=0.06x^2+5 , where x is the number of fish, in hundreds, sold at y1 dollars each. Articles in his trade newsletters lead him to believe that the demand curve is y2=0.2x^2 - 4.8x + 31.

a) The equilibrium point is very close to seven fish. Calculate the producer surplus if Roger sells at y1.

b) What is the consumer surplus?

In my economics class this would have been simple to solve...but in calculus we have to use integration, and that is new for me this year, and my textbook is hard to understand. So if you could dumb it down into some steps for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I am 31 and a single mother of three and I am seriously thinking about going back to college. I have always had a deep desire to be a writer so I want something geared toward that but of course something I can use on a job. What major could that be? Is there a demand for creative professions? Something that would also be useful toward creative writing though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I plan on studying theology/philosophy and possibly literature. I've always loved Rome, but is there a great city in Europe for Americans to study? I'm quite intelligant so an intellectually-stimulating place would be nice. Meeting a handsome European while over there would also be fantastic.

I'm looking for something kind of exciting..shocking maybe. I'm open to any suggestions. Thank you.

I was searching important quotes for the novel To Kill a Mockingbird on the internet and found an important one. However, I cannot locate it in my copy of the book. If anyone one could help give me the chapter or possibly the page number of where this quote is located, I would truly appreciate it. The quote: "I felt the starched walls of a pink cotton penitentiary closing in on me, and for the second time in my life I thought of running away..."

Thanks again!
