High school is a new beginning. If you feel like you are going to miss some friends from 8th grade, be sure that you get their phone numbers or e-mail address to keep in touch with them. You will get to be more secure in your new environment as each week goes by. Most high schools have an orientation day where you visit the campus and get somewhat familiar with it. Join a club or team you are interested in, if you can, to meet more people. It is very different in that you have to be aware of your credits to graduate, but the guidance counselors help you with that. You get to pick some classes that you have an interest in, besides your "core" classes. So you can take an occasional fun class, like art, drama, international cooking, weights, or tech ed. Oh, and you have more food choices in the cafeteria ! High school is cool !
