Im having a hard time which one to use for my sentence.
Is it...
...and the horrific affects of radiation sickness.
or
...and the horrific effects of radiation sickness.

Affected has to do with a pretended behavior. ie. a behavior which is purposely shown.

Of course the second one is correct!!! You must remember that affect is a verb while effect is a noun. Angela

"effect" is a noun. "affect" is a verb. you want to use "effects"

think of the "a" in "affect" as A for "action of a verb"

like affect is a noun that could make a difference in ur life --effect is a verb that something has already happened to make a diffrence in ur life anyway that in layman's terms is wh. it means to me
