Im currently in 8th grade. I am on the B honoural, and I feel I can do so much better. But since my family problems are distracting me, my concentration level in school decreases. Being smart is a natural thing for most people, but for me it IS NOTTTTTTT EASY, therefore I have to work twice as hard . Since I've matured over the year, education is all I talk about. But luckily Im only in 8th grade, which means I can start fresh in highschool. Meaning I'll find different/better methods for studying and getting things turned in ON time. But lets move on to my questions: (1)how should I study for a test? / (2)how should I make shure all my assignments are turned in on time? / (3)how should i prepare for college? / (4)how should i make shure my grades are good enough to enter TOP colleges? / ECT.

Getting into college:

I've read many blogs about entering Yale/Havard/ECT. I know I'll be volunteering in community groups due to church. I'll also try to join the tennis or volleyball.....

I have asked some friends and relatives if i majored in history, what kind of jobs would i get. alot of them say teachers. problem is, i dont want to be a teacher. im not a leader type. i also want to make a decent income.

so, what are some jobs out there for history majors? and how much do they pay about? just give me an estimate. i though about majoring in law and becoming a lawyer but would that be too off subject?
i really like history and if i could major in history i would be happy to go to school.

History classes are the only class where im ok to happy to go, other classes i cant wait till its over.

thank you for your answers!!

Is "spilt" a word? I thought only "spilled" was the correct spelling, but was informed by a girl that it is "spilt" not "spilled"

Are they two different meanings?

Students bestow gifts on you every year. As a parent, I would like to hear what gifts are really appriciated.

Stories of interest would be welcome also.

I am from the Philippines. I am a high school graduate here. I would like to enter a university in the UK. They require me to take up a Foundation Degree but I don't want to. Neither do I want to take up International Baccalaureate.

Do UK High Schools accept international students who finished high school in another country> I want to have an acess not just to UK Universities, but also other universities abroad.

What are the possible pathways? (GCSE, BTEC, etc..- I'm not really familiar with these terms.

The parents are having a fit over the school starting a new policy on all students having to wear uniforms. The keep harping on education. Here is my thought on it. I was in the service for years. I was proud to wear my uniform. I see young people come in daily and apply for jobs wearing jeans with rips and holes along with flip flops. The go to school with price tags on their clothes and shoes. Is it a fashion show or are you there to learn? Once they can't be different from each other they will have to focus on their education. What are your thoughts?

For many years Americans have been going to movie theaters for a one of a kind experience. The venue, the company, the good o' popcorn and a soda, but among these things the actual movie it self. One of the better known genres of movies is horror. A individual might ask why horror films? Because it stimulates the viewers interest in a new and different way. This type of film specifically stimulates fear, fear of ones com rads, of where one lives, of ones country, and even of ones self. Movie goers in America have chosen to see horror films for the pure fact of curiosity. Monsters, psychos, and mutated being of the beyond all leave viewers horrified but coming back for more. American viewers throughout history have been influenced by horror films and even influenced horror films through their actions, and words. The human mind always seems to wander, wondering what if such a thing could happen. Through jealousy, anger, and bitterness of the past the people make the villains, if and only when they do in fact go insane. Americans are attracted to the insane, and unlikely cases, people are attracted to what they fear.

Grania's husband was a stretcher-bearer and went to the front line, so Grania "consumed like so many women at this time with the tasks of waiting, clings to a few letters that manage to make it back to her, hoping guiltily that Jim, unlike so many others, will survive.'Thus, "a few letters "refer to letters written by Grania or by her husband?
