Put simply.....

Most research takes place using a very narrow population, for example American men between ages 30-50. That's a limitation in the study because it doesnt cover men who arent in that group. There are no Asians, no women, no older men, etc.

Limitations could also be that the study was conducted over a short time. This is true of many studies with medication. The drug companies do studies for a few months and then declare a product to be safe. A longer study may have found that over teh course of YEARS or even decades, a drug may not be safe.

Those are a few examples. Hope this helps.

The limitations of the study means for example in a chosen theme the areas you have not covered, the dimensions you could have incorporated, the interviews you could have conducted, the practical experience for which you could have given some space etc.

In reality the limitations of the study means you have not exhausted the topic and that you have limited it to certain extent. All that you have not embraced in your study and areas that you could have dealt with can be pointed out as limitation of the study.

For my PHD research I have taken "Family of Truth: Liminal Context of Interreligious Dialogue" - An anthropological and pedagogical enquiry.

One limitation of the above study obviously is that it is only an anthropological and pedagogical enquiry.

Another example is that at times we select for our theme a particular period say from 1950-2000. The limitation can be that the study considers only fifty years a very limited period.

All the very best. You will do a fine job!

Write a paper on Milgram's study "Obedience to Authority" (lots of info on the net, just google) and consider what the study could not take into account (the limitations).
