A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each
other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day,
he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
"Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM
and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and
see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by
the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

Texas Teachers, thinking back over your teaching career, which state implemented programs were stupid wastes of time, and which really seemed to do some good? (Just name the first one that comes to mind and explain a little...thanks.)

Isn't this book so lame? It has to have one of the worst endings ever. know there was probably some symbolism but the plot was horrible. I like it when the family was on the road but then the plot brokedown at the end. What do you guys think of the book?

what do you think about public schools letting teachers dock points off of students grades if they dont have certain supplies for a class? let me be more specific
my nephew is in his 2nd year of spanish and in this class besides the normal basic supplies of pens papers and things like that, they have to subscribe to a spanish magazine that costs $15 for 2 issues. tomorrow will be the 1st day of the 2nd week of school and if they dont have the money for the subscription tomorrow, they get 10 points knocked off their grade. the next monday another 10, etc
my nephew luckily isnt one of these kids, but what about the kids that just dont have the money for things like that?
stuff like this really gets me wound up i dont think its fair
what about you?

The show Wild'n'Out is childish and kind of annoying actually, but somehow I still laugh at it's charm. I kind of get the sense of whatever it's dumb and actually irritating but in kind of a cute way. I guess a child could be like this as well. I do not know one word to descrive this exact thing. Plz help.

i dont know why people cant smoke tobacco like cigarettes or cigars in a classroom. lets say they are in college, and they want to smoke and they cant. but some people who chew tobacco can chew anytime they want cause theres no smell or smoke. why cant people just sit in class with a pen, notebook, and books while smoking? whats wrong with that? explain to me somebody, best answer gets a 10. good luck!

now we all know that "blue" is a color, correct? But we also know that many singers, notably African American, have sung the "blues" as a form of music. But as we know this sense of the word "blue" as in "I'm feeling blue" means to feel sad, lonely, depressed. and the "blues", if we return to the colloquial black idiom, was a state of sadness...
How did this sense of the word "blue" or "blues" i.e. sad, originate?? and in what way, if any, is it linked to the color blue?

I was going to get 27" and mount them but tube TV's are so close to being phased out. This way teacher's could hook their computers up to them. THE DOWN SIDE... the teachers are too technology illiterate to understand how to operate the LCD's. Strange but true. How would you use the money to supply Televisions to various classrooms?
