It sounds like you may have a learning disability. If you do have one, than take proof to your schools disability office. You may qualify for testing or other accomodations.

If you do not know if you have learning disabilities then you should get tested. It can make a big difference.

I am an my 30's and spent years struggling to make it out in the world. After high school I went to college for a little while, but had trouble focusing and was not even able to complete my 2 year program. I spent several years in an out of work because I couldn't hold down a job. Two years ago I was diagnosed with asperger's syndrome (a social development disorder that comes with sensory defensiveness, small and large motor, and attention deficit problems). Since my diagnosis, I have started to work on my social skills and with the help of accomodations am back in school full time and doing well.

make a schedule for yourself to organize your time, and slot the study time in during your most alert and energetic time of day. As for focus...try just working 15 minutes at a time then getting up, stretch, take a 2-3 min break and then start again. It's a proven fact that the brain stops retaining what is being imputed after 15 minutes, and thats when you lose focus. The breaks can prevent this from happening so often.

PS if you need any papers written or edited, i do that, so email me....help with stuff like that also takes off some stress and give you more time to study effectively and get that A!

First issues first : breathe! i'm actually precisely the comparable as you. I positioned issues off a daft volume, and think of i'm able to scrape exams on what i've got learnt till now hand. i'm no longer gonna say which you will under no circumstances get a solid grade in case you do no longer artwork like hell, inspite of the undeniable fact that it makes a marked distinction. Make a time table. they help plenty. What I do while i myself might desire to revise is save looking over the circumstances i'm meant to be doing issues in the process the day so it truly is all in my head. while your recommendations tries to get you to push barriers do no longer enable it. Beat your self at your individual game and do issues precisely once you mentioned you will possibly do them. as quickly as you're doing it, it truly is quite relaxing. Set your self up with a snack, a drink, some music (if it does not distract you) then get flashcards, a pc, colored pencils, even if you pick. Make your individual time table in case you like yet right it truly is a handbook: 4 - 4:15 come back, grab a snack quickly away and get all your stuff mutually the place you're comfiest. 4:15 - 5 REVISE pt a million Make your factors (recommendations maps, flash taking part in cards, web content) 5 - 5:30 Do even if homework you have, yet no longer for to any extent further than needed (instructors are extra understanding once you have exmas). a minimum of initiate although 5:30 - 6:30 Do even if you like. Watch television, choose for a motorbike holiday, write a singular, whatev. build in an hour for dinner and something of the night : REVISE pt 2 (use the factors you made in the previous) i might do a splash the two on the instant, cut up it sluggish even if in case you do no longer end. Then the following day do in intensity Physics, address your photons out of your protons, iron out something you do no longer recognize. Wednesday after Physics do RS. For that concentration on examination technique, expenses, and then go over all of the themes. wish this helped and powerful good fortune on your exams!

Just relax. Also, intense studying doesn't always work and I know that from experience. My sophmore year of high school in the first half of Algebra II I took notes and tried to understand but I still ended up getting bad grades and struggling, the next half I stopped paying attention to what my teacher was saying basically and stopped taking notes so that I wouldn't study them and ended up doing better. I'm not saying to stop taking notes though because they can be helpful for other classes. Also, making up songs or rhymes can help you to remember things a lot easier. Even if they seem silly, they really can help... that's probably the only reason that I can remember verbs and stuff in German. Notecards are helpful too. Like for vocabulary you can put the word on one side and the definition on the other. Repetition helps too. =)

Later, I went to Grad School.... where you cannot make below a B in a class.. or you have to re-take the class.....and I had a wonderful 2 yrs of A's and B's......I told the same chairman of the department ,, and he told me.... "Well, you had other things on your mind , when you were younger".....lol

You can do it,,,,,, study study......

Good Luck

Study with no distractions - no radio, no tv, no cell phone, no instant or text messaging, no running off for snacks or drinks.

DO take a break every hour or so, strech those back muscles and shake out your arms and legs. Don't forget about your neck either.

I understand wanting to make your parents proud, but you need to step back, relax and look at a few things. Worrying about how proud you're making them is likely what is taking your focus off studying, or better yet, hindering you from retaining what you study. Relax.

Figure out one thing for yourself - are you studying something that you're passionate about? If you don't have passion for what you're learning, it will make it that much harder for you to focus. If you do have passion for what you're studying, congratulations, you're ahead of a lot of people.

Next, what is your motivation in putting your parents on such a pedestal? Is it out of obligation or out of love? Remember that your parents probably love you very much regardless of what you do...it's who you are that they love.

Lastly (but probably most important), I understand that family is really important, but you are not ultimately responsible for their well-being or happiness. I happen to depend on a God who is much better than I am at taking care of my family - having the faith keeps me from feeling like the world is on my shoulders. That's what keeps me focused on what I need to do.

My parents know that I love them and that I live my life as best as I can to make my God and them proud. I used to think that they would be disappointed in me if I didn't do well, but it turns out that they have always been more concerned about my health and happiness than anything else. Talk to your parents...it'll probably alleviate some of the pressure you're putting on yourself. Good luck.
