You can save a lot of money by going to a community college the first two years. And, in addition some community colleges and universities offer a direct placement - go for two years, get your associates and maintain a certain GPA and you have guaranteed admission to the university.
Regardless of what your major is the classes required for your two-year degree are pretty much the same. There will be some differences - but at that level, freshmen and sophomore years of colleges - save some money and wait to spend the big bucks when you are working on your bachelors/masters/MD/PhD.

depends on the reputation of the school. If the community college is reputable, it would be ok. The class sizes are typically smaller, and many times the courses are easier. In many cases, it is easier to get assistance from a professor at a community college. However, if you want a challenge and want the experience of the BIG university life now, then go ahead and take the plunge!!!

There are a lot of opportunities for transfers from community college at Universities, regardless of major. A lot of ppl I knew went to community college in High school, and then transferred to a university and graduated in just 2 years! so they're like 20 and already finished w/ bachelors degree.

There are good parts about doing it either way. If I were doing it I would go straight for the Univ. if my grades were up to par. Good luck.
