The website http://www.aneki.com/richest.html have a list of the World Richest Countries. It says that Luxembourg, a country in Western Europe, between France and Germany that have a population of 462,690 (on 2004), has a GDP per capita of $55,100 and that make it the top one on the list of the world riches countries.
That was a surprised for me because I really thought that the Arab Emirates was the #1.

USA has more wealth than any nation. However, the standard of living for the average person is lower than many other nations. The gap between the rich and the working class is at an historic all-time high. Actually, I just remembered reading somewhere that Vatican City is technically a nation, and has the highest wealth per person. Something like $300,000 per person.

By Per Capita income its the United States.....by assetic value I would have to say Lichtenstien, just East of Switzerland, Home of the World Bank.
