There have been a couple of other questions about this...
What is your ethnicity? How much do you generally tip for top-notch service? (ie good food, service with a smile, timely manner, etc) How were you brought up to tip?

I ask this because, as a server for more than 3 years (a very good one at that!) I always ALWAYS treat every table the same. But then there's the issue of tables with blacks. Our black servers hate waiting on tables with blacks (harsh generalization, I know, but in my industry it happens... FYI I'm biracial). For the most part, blacks come into our restuarant later in the evening (9-close) for dinner, get served, rack up a $60 bill and tip $4-5 (if you're lucky). I know people from Asia and Europe simply don't have tipping where they come from... but what is the cause of this phenomenon?

((Note: common tipping practices include 15-18% of the bill, BEFORE discounts. Anything below 15% is insulting.))

We are going to take my wife's granny out for a birthday lunch and would like to go somewhere nice. We usually go to a pub called the dog and bacon as it is close but would like to go somewhere different this time. We don't want to go to Mannix Heath golf club (even though it is lovely).

I have heard gossips about the McDonald's Burger Patty is made from 100% cultured earth worm, but they don't have any proofs or evidences that it is really made of cultured earthworms. I think these are just hoaxes to break the reputation of Mcdonald's as the world's number 1 food chain. For you, is it really made of cultured earthworms? are there any written articles or proofs online that their patties are from earthworms, I don't know, but I`m starting to believe :)

What's your opinion?

Celebrating a special occassion, dressy casual to dressy, Non-Asian food (we eat that too often), Center city preferred but not required (West of Philly is better than East), $25.00 - $35.00 entree price range is OK and I'm willing to spend a little more if necessary. A unique theme and/or unusual menu would be nice but a warm, quiet atmosphere for a comfortable table conversation is more important - though it would be nice to have both. Short time frame for reservations for 4 (Sat. 11/04/06). Liquor license or BYOB - either is OK. We are true diners so we don't like to feel rushed. Live music (Jazz or piano player) would be the icing on the cake! Thank you in advance for your input and suggestions.
