does it help if the waitress is pretty and is wearing something that a bit sexier than the norm?i mean does a pretty waitress providing great service better than an ordinary looking waitress providing the same service???

Pretty people are ususally paid better than average people, in all aspects of business. This is especially true in service industries such as waitressing.

If you had a beautiful waitress but you waited one hour for your food, and when it came it was cold when it should have been hot...and then when you were ready to leave you waited one more hour more for your check...well, how much would you care that she was beautiful? If the server is clean, pleasant, and provides good service, that's what it is all about. Hope this doesn't offend you, but don't navigate through life being shallow.

Yes - the looks are one of the most important things being a waitress. A pretty waitress usually gets a lot more tips and good response than one that's not so fly.
Oh yeah, its not worth a thing if shes all bitchy.

Unfortunately, yes. I used to waitress and bartend in a very popular tourist area. On the days I chose to dress it up a bit, I would always make twice the tips I would make on an avg. looking day.

Unless your packin an overabundance of testosterone than I would say that, along with the great service, you get a good character as well.

pretty and friendly (i.e. she wears smiling face) with good service - BIG YES, I mostly tip more to good service + good food (no matter how the waitstaff's look)
I would be double up-set if she's pretty but bitchy and provides bad service.

Depends on what one thinks of as pretty, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . . and of course, what about waiters?! But to answer your question, if I think she's pretty, then I must admit, YES, all other things being equal, it matters a little.

For me, it think it depends, coz there are pretty waitress who served but are not friendly and effecient, and there are pretty and are friendly and effective!
So I think I go for those who served well and its a plus to be pretty and friendly! i give a little extra tip!

only if your gay, or a man! I count on the service and the pleasantness of the server. not there looks (unless it's a waiter)
