I've recently attempted connecting two 300 ohm wires to a balun which converts to 70 ohm coax. Do the wires need to pair specifically? Is there any danger if they're connected the wrong way?

why does my 42 inch plasma not look at good as my friends 42 inch lcd? Does it have something to do with the fact that my input is not in digital or is LCD just a better picture? Please give me some details.

I live in NYC, and i heard the GOVT is phasing out analog signals. Is that true? Also Can i use a HDTV antenna on my standard non-HD panasonic? Would it connect fine and will the picture quality be fine? Thanks for the help.

My brother got an HDTV for christmas and I now see how crappy the images are on the standard definition channels. Although the picture looks great hooked up to the HD channels, the PS3 or Blu-ray discs... the majority of the channels (around 200 of the 250 channels available) are the grainy garbage we've come to hate.

I will be buying a TV in a few months and was wondering if there was a way around this. Is there some type of TV that has a hybrid mode where it can show the 480i channels as good as a standard tv while showing the 720 and 1080 channels in their HD glory?

In addition to what I should look for, recommendations will be great. I want one thats 30-ish inches. It's for my room. And I want one I can play games on.

Mine adjusts from between an 80 inch to a 110 inch. It is massive and it still hasn't gotten old even after 5 months.

So can I get away w/ a $20 cable instead of $200? It's not carrying an analog signal, so it should be the same right?

Picture on my 2 year old 13" TV blew out last night. I have sound but no picture. I can still play VHS on it, but the picture is in black and white when I do, no color! Kind of funny. Anyway, I am looking to replace it with an 18" or under TV and would preferably like to buy one tonight. I just use the TV to watch the news in the morning and at night, and watch an occasional DVD, so I don't need anything super great. I can't afford much anyway. Would like something that's not too deep because it has to sit on top of my dresser which is only 15" deep.

What type/brand of TV should I get, and where is the best place to purchase? I will go to any store except Wal-Mart. :)

Thank you for any advice!

I have a 780 res. Panasonic Plasma TV and am wondering if it's worth it to pay $100 for a Monster HDMI cable rather than only $10 for a Belkin HDMI cable. Is there honestly a noticeable difference? I will be using it to go from my HD DirecTV receiver to the TV.
