If tiling, pixelization or freeze frames occur the chances are that it is a problem with the incoming cable. Depending on the STB (Set Top Box) you have you may be able to check and see what your BER (Bit Error Rate) is. Not that you need to do this. Just call the cable company to have them fix it.
Now with more and more people getting digital equipment in their living rooms, the possibility of a home system problem resulting in the same effect may occur.
I just replaced my uncles DVR that was causing this type of problem.

Leslie, Julia has a good answer. Finger tighten those coax connections between the wall and the box.
Freezing can be caused by poor signal, loose connections, bad coax cable, digital cable box that needs to be rebooted (power unplugged for 2 minutes and plugged back in) -- especially with DVR cable boxes.
Poor signal conditions need to be fixed by your cable company but they are going to ask if you tightened the cables and rebooted the box first. Do not cause poor cable conditions by splitting the signal on a single cable drop especially the one that goes to the box. Use the right splitters and if you must have more connections have the cable company install them and check the signal to the box so you know there is enough signal.
Freezing can also be caused by bad weather at the source of the channel you are watching which is the cable company's receiving site for the TV broadcast or satellite signal that channel comes in on.

I even have the comparable challenge with "Dish" considerable line into new motorola cable modem. I even have 30MG bandwidth. from Cable modem i flow to a clean netgear router then to the huge television which will freeze constantly on the top of a advertisement..constantly! I additionally pop out of the router (a clean netgear from the cable co) and a line is going to a 2d receiver in my mattress room..it freezes too. i'm questioning the only element it extremely is in user-friendly with the two t.v.'s is the router and modem. i flow to objective to reset the modem...oh, if i flow to a distinctive channel and actual back..it extremely is high-quality for an undetermined volume of time. many times it extremely is approximately 20-half-hour. NO challenge with netflix, ppv video clips, etc employing icons to start.

To make it short and sweet, its the connection to the source that needs to be upgraded.
Digital TV has a thresh-hold. Either you have signal that looks awesome...or you don't have anything at all. If your picture keeps freezing, it means that you keep falling and rising above the minimal signal level to provide you a picture.
Call your cable company to fix it.

This started happening to me a few months ago. The solution was to call the CATV company who had to fix some amplifier outside my house to improve the signal strength.

Maybe the cable outlet is coming undone on the television or in the wall.
Unscrew them and then screw them back in?
