My family is subscribed to Comcast digital cable and downstairs + thier bedroom they get stuff like On demand and premium movie channles (HBO, Cinemax, etc.) In my room I got a cable wire going to my vcr then to my tv.


Question:
If I bought a digital cable box could i get HBO + On Demand in my room?

You will need to get a Cablecard from your local cable company.

Since your parents get all the premium channels the cost for an extra box should not be too much.

All you have to do is go to Comcast, get a second box, and you will get everything that they get downstairs. It is all on the same account. You will likely pay a few dollars a month for another box.

No. Your box needs to be programmed by the cable company to get HBO & on demand
