When you hit the power button they do not turn on they just hum. The tv's are sv2000 not sure of the brand name but they are wal-Mart christmas specials therfore are not a major name brand. I believe something has happened electrically with them like a surge because i also have a PS2 and a V-smile that no longer power on either. They all happened at different times when they went out. If it was not electrical surge than the most likely culprit is a 2 and 4 year old sons as one of the tv's and the 2 game systems happened in thier room. The other tv went to **** in me and my wifes room but while a nintendo system that my son playswas hooked up to our tv. Any help is greatly apreciated

[Our landlords] will not allow satellite dishes to be attached to the walls of the building, consequently ; we are unable to receive satellite T.V. The obvious answer might be to "move somewhere else" ; however, for various reasons, this isn't an option at present. [We] would really like to know if there is (or isn't) any possible alternative(s). SERIOUS answers from engineers or others "in the know" would be appreciated [Thank You].

I've checked all of the settings, reset the tv, tried other channels, unplugged and replugged in the tv... still the same -- a very good B/W picture. It wasn't like this 24 hours ago. Any ideas? The TV is a 20inch Sanyo True Flat Screen Tv. Model no. DS20425

the t.v. worked fine for at least a year... it was given to me by a friend so it was not new... the brand is an NEC and is at least a 27 inch screen... one morning i woke up and was going to watch the news... (it was working fine the night before)... then when i turned it on it made a hideous buzzing noise that sounds like 100 bees... there is just a white spot for the picture which is the size of the palm of my hand, and in that area there is a snow screen... sounds and channels work fine... i have no idea what’s wrong... please answer only if you know what you are talking about (that means no answers saying "ummm time for a new t.v.)

My ideal resolution that I like is:
http://www.apple.com/displays/specs.html
But it doesn't work as a TV.
I couldn't really find any HD TV more than 1366 x 768 res. so I don't think it will be so clear to use a HD TV for PC and work on PhotoShop for example.
If go with a TV, which one you would suggest, Sony, LG, Samsung, Toshiba, Philips? I prob go with 26" or 32".
Tnx 4 any help n tips

i hear there is a difference in the types of signal splitters on the market , does anyone know which is best, im currently using a 3 way slpitter that is gold plated from radio shack, how ever 2 of my tvs has snowy reception, 1 tv works fine and my computer works fine also(these were connected by the cable guy), so i just need to know how to get optimal reception on the other 2 tvs, i also would like to know if the cable wires make any difference (type, brand, price, etc) mine are pretty cheap, i would appreciate any help and suggestions, thanks

In addition, what brands would you recommend? I have a $1500 budget and am looking for a 37 inch minimum flat screen to hang on my wall. Also, will video game usage (xbox 360,ps2, laptop connection, etc.) damage my screen and leave an imprint?

OK, so, I if I upgrade my Direct TV reciever to an HD reiever, and I use the HDMI cable to hook it up directly to my 50 inch plasma HDTV,

Does the picture quality on every channel become really good? or is it just the HD channels that will only catch the high quality picture?

I'm thinking of upgrading so I can use the HDMI cable, but I'm wondering if even MTV or ESPN channels will better picture quality as supposed to using a s-video cable with a regular reciever??
