i hear there is a difference in the types of signal splitters on the market , does anyone know which is best, im currently using a 3 way slpitter that is gold plated from radio shack, how ever 2 of my tvs has snowy reception, 1 tv works fine and my computer works fine also(these were connected by the cable guy), so i just need to know how to get optimal reception on the other 2 tvs, i also would like to know if the cable wires make any difference (type, brand, price, etc) mine are pretty cheap, i would appreciate any help and suggestions, thanks

One thing to check before you go too far is this.I have a similar set up and the same lousy reception and my computer would get knocked offline. We called the cable guy he checked everything and noticed a power drop from the cable source ,he went outside before he checked everything else and dug around the cable lines coming into the house and noticed the one with the splitter etc was slightyly cut, prob from doing the construction of our house he changed it and everything is fine. This may be your prob or not, but check the simplest things and work from there.

Ok listen uo. Every time you do a 2 way split you get less than 1/2 the signal.the connectors and the wire bleed s little more signal. The wire run if longer than 5 feet will be a factor as you can lose 1/2 the signal on a 100foot run. The receiving equipment can deal with quite low signals, but if it is too low a local station can mix in with your desired signal and goof it up. a 10db amplified splitter (1gigahertz bandwidth) can be useful. get it from where you can return it and try it . I f not then get help laying out the wiring. wideband multiple hook-ups are 50% art and 50% science. Oh yeah look for a staple thru the wire. Don't ask how I know about the staple

I had the same problem and the way I solved it was to buy a fair good connector device with switches, has it can split the signal and make it stronger to at least two devices at the same time.
It's also very handy to change between them on the switch area.

The problem with 3 way splitter is that it divides the signal and the lesser ones get really bad connection.
with the switching device you control which ones get the most signal. Mine only has 4 connections but for a few extra dollars you can get up to 10.

The quality and construction of the cables (especially the ends) can affect signals.

The splitters have to have the right signal bandwidth. I have a boat load of TVs on a single cable and the quality is great. The reason: I bought a converter-booster from the cable company.... better to switch than fight.

If it's possible, run your internet connection from another cable outlet. The internet signal is giving your your horrible picture. Disconnect your internet connection and check your TV's. Also, try running a small patch able from one end of the splitter into ANOTHER splitter and then to your computer.

I have 4 pc's running on my router, along with 2 tv's. What a mess... Thank God I changed to wireless.

Try changing out the cable cord, play around with the wiring. Get the cable company out to check on it.

i imagine you could take the output out of your sat field and cut up that, obviously both TVs receives the same station. i understand you won't be able to do this with the cable coming from the LNB(sat. dish knobby element) even once you've 2 bins. each and each and every field needs that's personal LNB source. in case you want to characteristic a field: that's in ordinary words an more suitable $5 / month in case you locate you want yet another field, and that i purchased a used one on ebay for $.01! Sat agencies do not thoughts you having used kit see you later as you subscribe and characteristic a valid card which they are going to grant you. purely call them, tell them that you've a used field. they are going to ask for serial #, and grant you with a clean card for it and ought to charge you for this reason. obviously, you would ought to run yet another cable out on your LNB and be efficient it has an accessible output. desire that facilitates.
