I want to buy a flat screen tv (32" HDTV LCD Television) i dont plan on getting an hd terminal any time soon, because this will be a tv for my room and so i dont need any hd there. So i have a reguar cable that connects to the tv (the one that you have to screw in) and it give me like 60 channels, but not any hd programming. I want to know if its a good idea to get a HDTV if i dont plan on using the HD of it?

I have comcast digital cable. Somehow, I believe my father has been making purchases that somehow don't get blocked by the locks that I put on it through the setup on the digital box. Is there an alternative or add-on that I can put on the digital box to prevent purchases from being made (adult or regular)?

What should we look for (we want a 32" horizontal-type widescreen); WalMart has one that's around $ 600 (more or less), but I don't know if it's a TV or a monitor.

I was looking at ads for flat screen, HD TVs. Some will say something like "LCD Flat Panel HDTV ", then when I look at the specs, it will say it has either 1 or 2 "HD tuners". So does that mean it onlt gets 1 or 2 stations in HD? Some ads even say "No HD tuner", so then is it or is it not a HD TV?

I want to buy a 20 inch TV, probably a tube tv, but flat screen, with either a DVD, VCR, or both built in to the TV. (In other words a combo...)

I want to buy it either in a store or online, but not at Ebay or Craiglist...

Any suggestions???

Oh, and I don't want to pay over $150 for it...

I have a TV that the remote wont switch it on. I have tried a few universal remotes and they don't work either. Don't know if it is the TV or the remote therefore.

Is it possible to test a TV remote.

Can a TV that just operates via a remote be used without a remote. Can the controlls be over ridden.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've heard that in order to get optimal performance from your TV, you need to get it professionally calibrated. What do they do, and how much does it cost? I've also heard about calibration DVD's, does this do an equally good job as the professionals? Where can I find these DVD's? Went to Best Buy and they didn't have it. Lastly, does calibrating your HDTV really make a difference? Thanks for your help!
