Both almost the same price, one a little higher contrast ratio, with 1080p, is it enough difference to really want to go 6" less for the same price??

My dad wants to purchase a small under 20" LCD tv for his kitchen. We wehn shopping for one and we ran into a problem. Which will continue to work at the digital conversion and which will need a box. I know how to tell on larger sets but theres hardly any info on the smaller sets. From waht i think is true NTSC is the old analog standard, while ATSC is the new standard...right? Idk in just kinda of confused, is there any tell tale way to i can make sure the one he gets will be digital ready w/o buying a one that is HD ready?

I bought that brand tv today. I chose it because it has the number of inputs I need for my dvd player to work and because the picture was good. But is it a good brand of television?

I just but a Sylvania 42" Flat Panel Plasma HDTV. I have an HD cable box and it's connected with an HDMI cable, which is supposed to give the best quality picture. For the non-HD channels we are connected w/ S-Video because it looks better than the HDMI or component cables. I also kinda feel like the component cables looked better for the HD channels, so why all the hype about HDMI cables. Am I doing sometihing wrong, what does everyone find to give the best picture for cable/HD/DVD/etc

Earlier I asked a question about HDMI Cables, but now I would like to know if All Fiber Optic Digital Cables are the same? Would a cheaper brand of cable produce the same sound as the more expensive brand? Can you tell me some good brand of Fiber Optic Digital Cables? I have spent a lot of money on the T.V and on the Surround. I don’t want to drop all that money on cables if I didn’t have to.

My original sharp tv remote control is broken. I used a universal remote control and accidentally pressed the PIP button. The pip picture appeared on my tv screen and since then it has been there. I can't remove it, it won't go away even though how many times I pressed the PIP button. Sure do hope someone can help me with this. Thanks a lot :)

The cable that the installers put in is too short for where I want to put my TV. Can I get a splicer like for a phone, or do I need to replace the wire at the source?

Hi --

I'm looking at a 50-inch plasma. It looks awesome in HD. But of course there's limited programming currently available in HD.

Does anyone know how standard television resolution appears on a monitor this big? I would think it would be kind of blurry and annoying. What's your experience?

I recently bought a 32' samsung LCD HDTV, but it only has 720P. I noticed while shopping however that no 32 inch TV's (or 37 inches for that matter...maybe not even any 40's, but I'm not too sure about that) had 1080P (or 1080i). Is there a size limitation to the 1080 standard? if so, what is the cutoff?

I have read fourteen thousand articles about which is better, and they both have good and bad points. What I want to know is how long have you had your LCD or Plasma, what brand do you have, and the pros and cons. I would really like to hear from the people who have the larger over 42" LCD or Plasmas.
