Earlier I asked a question about HDMI Cables, but now I would like to know if All Fiber Optic Digital Cables are the same? Would a cheaper brand of cable produce the same sound as the more expensive brand? Can you tell me some good brand of Fiber Optic Digital Cables? I have spent a lot of money on the T.V and on the Surround. I don’t want to drop all that money on cables if I didn’t have to.

I don't know about the best but I always like to use Monster Cable. I've used this brand for HDMI and optical digital cables and the video and sound are great. It's a well known brand and always receives good reviews. Check out bestbuy.com

You can try replacing the HDMI cable but sounds like an issue with the bluray player. Some blurays have the option to send video & audio thru HDMI or video only. Go into the bluray menu settings and see if yours has this option. Change it to video only
