What are the opinions of owners?

Whats the deal with sony and dead pixels. Do they replace if dead pixels arise??? And, should I buy it now for £1500 or wait in hope that the price will drop?

I tried connecting the HDMI cable to the Vizio L32HDTV and it seems like the connector bent a few of the pins within the HDMI cable.

Has anyone seen this happen?

If so, is the HDMI cable useless now?

Also, How did this happen?

Is there something wrong with this television HDMI connector?

I just bought a new Ilo TV, but I cannot program the remote control for my DVR box because the code is not listed. Does anyone know what this 4 digit code is? I tried to do a search for the code using the remote, but had no luck. Thanks.

I keep hearing that there is no content currently being broadcasted at 1080p. (Direct TV, for example, sends out signals at 1080i.) The only way to get true 1080p is through a ridiculously expensive Blu-Ray machine.

Therefore many people conclude there's no real reason to get a 1080p television right now. "You won't see the difference," they say.

Anyway, at the store I did a visual comparison between 1080i/720p TVs and 1080p TVs. The source was your usual DirectTV stuff. I could have sworn that the 1080p TVs looked better -- more solid, filled-out and precise.

Is this all in my head? Do other people prefer 1080p TVs to their 1080i/720p counterparts? Theoretically we shoudn't see a difference.

We've decided to go for a 40 or 42 inch screen and both plasma and LCD models are available. We are going to install Sky HD as well as we watch a lot of sport. I've heard that LCD is here to stay and that plasma will eventually disappear, a bit like the old Betamax videos did. I've also been told that Sony Corp. ONLY do LCD televisions now. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
