Hi --

I'm looking at a 50-inch plasma. It looks awesome in HD. But of course there's limited programming currently available in HD.

Does anyone know how standard television resolution appears on a monitor this big? I would think it would be kind of blurry and annoying. What's your experience?

Not a big deal, in two more years all the signals will be digital and that will make it even better than the analog. about the same difference you see now between your HD and a non HD or blue ray DVD. I had a HD, projection TV about two years and stepped up to a DLP and the new picture is so much better than the old HD, I couldn't believe it. The pic. is better than the Plasma I was looking at. Of course I can't hang it on the wall, but most people in the business think plasma is on the way out.

I own a Panasonic 50" hd-plasma and in my opinion regular tv looks fine. Only the extremely picky person would have a problem with the picture quality. The best way to find out is to trust your own eyes and you make the judgement. Go to a store and tell a salesman to switch the channel to normal programming (non-hd) and see for yourself. Don't stand too close. Step back and view the picture in the same distance you would watch it at home.
