That depends on how big a surge you're expecting to come down the wire, not what you have plugged into it.

1 will be enough, unless of course you want to add stuff to it, like dvd players, surround sound, extra speakers, etc, that connect to your lcd tv. Usually surge protectors can carry up to 300 watts, for a tv, but think about putting a surround sound.
