Music & Music Players - May 2007

I had to reinstall a different version of windows because i lost all my files and information on my old computer, luckily I didn't have anything of importance on that computer but my music, and itunes.
So I reinstalled windows xp, reinstalled itunes and plugged in my ipod. First it asked if I wanted to erase everything from my ipod and I said no. Now that I put new music into itunes, it won't transfer those songs onto my ipod. HELP!!

so I want to delete a few songs off my nano and so on iTunes I turn on my playlist that's on my nano. but the thing is, my list of songs are 'un-clickable'. they turned grey and I can't click on them to delete them. anyone know what's up and how I can convert it back to normal? thanks!

i just got an ipod but i dont know how to put in my songs.can someone please tell me STEP BY STEP how to put it in without paying money just for free anythng but itunes because it does not work.

I would like to try to download free podcasts (i.e. free) for my Shuffle Gen2; I don't want to download and pay with iTunes. I tried searching google and it's all amateur stuff, and I tried Limewire ("podcast") with no results either way. If anyone knows a website or P2P (Limewire) Keyword, I would appreciate it.

I would like to know if playing music in a business place (such as my massage studio) infringes on the copyrights of the artists. I use alot of CD purchased music on my MP3 player and it is piped into all the rooms of my studio. I have been wondering if this is legal. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi, I have the latest version of iTunes (7.1.1.2) and reecently it has stopped burning CD's. It has burned them ever since I got my iPod (2 years ago) and all of a sudden it dosen't burn them. When i insert the disc it reads it and asks me what playlists to add. I do that then it says "Disc Burner or Software Cannot Be Found". I've tried unistalling iTunes, but nothing happened. It still says it. PLEASE HELP

ok so you may have read one of my many questions about Ipods. well i need more help. i don't use itunes to download music to my ipod. ok well i took 119 songs from windows media player and they transferred to the itunes thing, well when i try to download, there says that there's an error like -69 or something and it only downloaded 77 songs. have any one else had this problem

Whenever I try to play a song on my iPod nano, it doesn't play, but instead, all the songs just start fastfowarding and not playing so basically, its not working. If you have any suggestions, I already tried pressing the center button and MENU at the same time and it doesn't work. I need help...bad!!! I just got it!

So it was raining real heavy today, and i stacked it and dropped my Creative Zen Vision M into a deep puddle.

I picked it up really fast, but the screen flashed blue. The player was off at the time.

How bad would the damage be, and what would be the best thing to do to help it dry out? Should i help it dry out?

i wus messign around with itunes a while ago and i accidentally deleted the main playlist "hp owner's ipod" and i cant find it in the recycle bin! and i dont know how to make a new one and when i charged my ipod (nano), it deleted all the songs that were already on it! HELP ME!

My car does not play mp3 CDs, so I want to burn the songs from the CD onto my computer so I can burn a regular CD. How can I get the songs from the CD to my computer? I am trying to do it through my music player, but it is saying that it cannot because it is a "data" CD.

I have Windows XP and I am using WMP to rip/download and copy CDs and it's producing a very dirty and distorted copy. Even from a clean storebought CD! .....I'm at my wits end! I just spent 3 hours last night trapped in 'computer hell'! I was trying to free up some space and ended up with a space shuttle mouse pointer that wouldn't leave, all my icons tiny and messed up, and absolutely no better off by the middle of the night.
UGGHH!!

Also, is it possible WMP is taking formerly clean copies and distorting them too? It seems like I had a lot more good copies, now every one of them that I listen to is blown.

Any step-by-step very basic directions to change the ripping bit-rate (?) and/or other tips to improve sound quality from otherwise clean sources?
That would help me out a lot!
{I literally felt like punching my computer last night, it was that personal! *S*}

If a record has a label on it which reads 'a side is xxxx, b side is xxxx but does not say which side is which - how can you tell? is the a side the one with the label? Is it the one with the logo? is their a rule for this?!! anyhelp appreciated as this really has annoyed me for years....
