Gibson owns Epiphone. Gibsons are the "authentic ones" But I would take a Les Paul over an SG (personal prefrence)

Go with the Gibson if it really a Gibson and not a cheap imitation like the Epiphone.

the better guitar is the gibson, because epiphone is a branch off of gibson. gibsons are better in quality, but if you mean in looks, they look a lot a like, and epiphones are cheaper

Wow, what a toss up. I think both are great. I'd try both and pick the one that felt better in my hands and felt more comfortable with a guitar strap. ( I am leaning more towards the Gibson SG though)

Gibson faded SG is a better guitar but more expensive.
