Well, they are over priced for a start. I mean, the 4gb nano costs the same as my 20GB mp3 player.
People see the Ipod as a fashion statement, they go for "coolness" rather than quality.



It's a terrible mp3 player marketed to ignorent people. being the only mp3 player with commercials and banner ads, people think its the only mp3 player that exists. other mp3 players that are better quality are usually half the price.


"Some piece of crap that Apple uses to brainwash the youth of North America, Europe, and Asia. usually bought by children aged 11+. They only buy it because:

A) It's sleek deisgn and it's touch sensitive pad wheel
B) They think it's the only way to get to popularity at their school
C) it gives them something to brag about to their friends
D) Everyone that surrounds them has one, and they feel they should follow the crowd and talk their parents into buying"

Ok, so here's the deal, I bought my cousin a cheap little mp3 player (this one) http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?ItmNo=98768834N
and then I did a search on ebay (which can be seen here) http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/SaleSearch?from=R9&fstype=1&satitle=usb+ac+adapter&from=R9&ssPageName=STRK:MEFSRCH:SRCH for USB AC adapters. I know Apple makes them for the ipod, so I figured there would be some generic ones. Turns out there are, but they all say ipod, zune, etc. Are they just doing the usual ebay thing of putting buzzwords onto a product, or do you think they are designed for those brands? The only reason I ask is because I'd hate to buy one and then have it short out this tiny little mp3 player I got her. Is that even possible?

Anyway, I'm assuming it'd probably be safe, but just to be sure I'm asking here.

I've got a new iPod Nano (2nd gen I think) and I want to get a case before my 15 day return policy is over. I was looking at a variety of a cases and I wondered what case will protect the iPod better. You see, I've got a terrible record for portable media. I've frozen an mp3 player (somehow) and dropped the other out a window.

If I ripped a track from an audio CD, say from Windows Media Player or Real Player. What settings would I have to set the MP3 at to come closest to matching the quality of an audio CD track.

I like Yahoo Music Unlimited, except it is difficult to work with the Ipod. ITunes offers no ability to listen to songs several times before purchasing, nor any kind of subscription model.

What I'd like is a service that I can listen online to music of my choosing for free or cheap, and buy music that I can download to my IPod. Any such service out there? How about just the listening part. I suppose if I like the song I can always go to ITunes afterwards.

As an alternative, I could go for a service like Yahoo's Music Unlimited To Go, but I'm too cheap to pay $15 a month, plus I'd rather not have to buy another MP3 player.

Have been using itunes because I like the childrens music selection, also the imix, and nike sport mix stuff, plus get extra cashback from discovercard from it. However, I have a sandisk and not an ipod, so the conversion is a pain for the stuff I want for my mp3.

While working for my dad (he has a landscaping business) I end up mowing on a rider for about 4-7 hours; something that can be crazy boring. I've had nothing but headaches since using my Zen on a Vista PC. Media Explorer won't close & I have to go to the task manager to end the process. Two instances of the player show up when I plug it in. Safely remove hardware shows up in the tray even after I disconnect the darned thing. I've been looking for a fix on the Creative forums but nothing yet. Anyone else having problems since using Vista?

Now delivery costs aside, what tax and other costs can I expect to pay on importing one? Plugs etc are not an issue as I have all that from my previous Ipod.

Im pretty sure I can still save money and am determined to beat the 'rip off britain' culture and make use of the weak $.

Just need to know if its worth it but Im unsure as to taxes and customs charges. Do customs just bill me for 17.5% or am I missing something?
