You can't get free full quality music, but the closest to it is "Limewire" got to www.limewire.com and download it, but the music you can get isn't the best quality.
If you want full quality music for as cheap as 1 cent a song got to www.allofmp3.com

You can download itunes on the Apple website. It is guaranteed no viruses because it is a protected website. Here is the link: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
However, if you want to download songs for free such as on limewire, you have a greater risk of having viruses. The only way you can download music without any viruses is if you get them legally, such as buying them from the itunes music store.

on no account. I registered an ipod right this moment for an account and you do not get something for unfastened for doing it. Now once you're making an Itunes account you get 3 video clips for unfastened (which i did each week in the past) I have been given 3 video clips for unfastened yet thats it. There no longer all that super the two.

Do you mean free songs, or a free download of the application iTunes?
If you mean the app, go to apple.com
If you mean songs, there's no way to get them free unless you get kazaa (kazaa.net) morpheus (morpheus.com) grogster (grogster.com) or limewire (limewire.com) These programs aren't exactly legal, but many people still use them (I don't care; I won't tell on them =D) When you DO download songs on those programs, there is no guarantee that you won't be getting any sort of virus.

free downloads of music are almost invariably illegal. either pay for the real tunes, or just use your own cd library.
the itunes software is free as apple no longer puts it in the box when they sell their ipods (it's more profitable)
