Everything you read says not to get tower speakers for a small apartment. Is that just because of the space they take up? Or do you need big spaces for tower speakers to work. My apartment has vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. Would tower speakers work?

I have 2 VCRs and 1 TV.

I want to record one program on VCR#1, and another on VCR#2, while watching a third on the TV.

I have done this before without a splitter or A/B switch, problem is I don’t remember how!

I have:
1. Hooked the incoming coaxial cable wire into VCR#1 ANT/IN;
2. Then ran another coaxial cable from the VCR#1 ANT/OUT to VCR#2 ANT/IN; and
3. Finally ran third coaxial cable from the VCR#2 ANT/OUT to the TV.

Before I could start by:

1. Tuning the TV to channel 3;
2. Turn on VCR#1 and pushing TV-VCR button on the remote, I could now set VCR#1 to record CSI on channel 10;
3. Push TV-VCR button on the remote to leave VCR#1;
4. Turn on VCR#2 and pushing TV-VCR button on the remote, I could now set VCR#2 to record Shark on channel 13;
5. Push TV-VCR button on the remote to leave VCR#2; and
6. I could now watch Cold Case on channel 9 thru the TV.

This all works but VCR#2 now only records static!

HELP!!!!!

Any assistance would be appreciated

My computer's description is to work with VIRTUAL surround sound, the sound card is configured for it, the OS and software and the DVD has surround sound. It always worked until a few months ago, in the control panel the speaker set up for Windows is 5.1 surround sound. I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows xp and now every time i select 5.1 surround sound speaker setup from the control panel my speakers make this annoying high pitched whistling sound and any sound played is distorded. If anyone can help thankyou :)

I listen to a lot of music and go to a lot of concerts. Just last night I was at a 1000 seat thetaer witha balcony and loved the full sound, (but not loud) of the music in the front of the theater while I was under the balcony. It just sounded so full and crisp and a lot better than what listen to at home. When I build my new house, how do i get that full sound? I hate surround sound and hate movies. What should i consider?

Im going to be putting together a stereo system and im looking for professional speakers, not stuff like sony or bose, but the good stuff like bag end. Does anyone else know of any other brands that are along the lines of bag end, because im trying to keep my costs down, but if i have to, ill spring for the bag ends.

The reason i ask is my friend does professional audio recording and he recommended the aformentioned speakers but they are a bit pricey, so im trying to find something comparable.

So I have a couple of HD TVs and both of them have the VGA input. Now my question is, is it worth spending money on an "upconverting" dvd player that converts the normal dvds to HD and display them? My computer, when connected to the HDTV, displays in 720p resolution.

So the question is, does the computer do the same job as an upconverting dvd player, or should I invest into one.

For my birthday I got a ton of great dvds that I've wanted forever... sadly, they are region 2 dvds. (There was no way they could be found in Region 1, we looked EVERYWHERE.) Unfortunately my dvd player doesn't have any region free hacks. Everyone has been telling me how easy it is to just buy some cheap dvd player and turn it region free. Well, I can't find any!!
Does anyone know where I can find a reasonably cheap (under $70) dvd player that has region free hacks available?

Thanks!

P.S. If someone can show me a link to where I can buy one online that would be great, but I don't mind trekking to get it. (I live in Ottawa, so it has to be a Canadian store if it's not available online.)

I want to connect my 360 to my monitor. My monitor supports both DVI and VGA. Right now, my monitor's DVI port is being taken up by my PC, though. Of course, my 360 outputs YPbPr and RCA and I want to have sound and the best video quality the 360 supports, at the same time putting it through my monitor. On my PC, I have a TV Tuner that supports S-Video in. I was wondering if I should get a YPbPr to VGA adpater and plug it into my monitor or use the traditional RCA and get an adapter for the yellow cord into S-Video and put it into my TV Tuner. Right now I've got my 360 plugged into a VCR through RCA and then goes to my Tuner, however, the button reaction time is rather long.
