The home cinema room is on the middle floor and has a word floor.
My front Mission floorstander speakers cIaim to go down to 38hz.
Should I :
1) insist on front firing , not downwards firing , models?
2) avoid performancebelow 25 hz ?
3) rely on a wooden?/stone? isolation platform, supported on Sorbothane?
4) Give up the idea?

Someone said that video game systems cause havok on big TVs. Does this mean that the picture is crappy or it acutally hurts the TV in some way. Thanks.

I am planning to by a Panasonic 50" plasma and would like to buy a set of speakers that I don't have to wire up all over the room. I was told that there are speakers sets, like the Bose 321 that give surround sound quality without having to wire up 5 speakers around a room. What can you suggest? Thanks

I recently bought the Pinnicle PCTV HD pro stick ( a comp tv tuner) but it sucks at reception, and i'm not getting any good reception. Needless to day, i'm not happy. The tuner came with an antenna which I can't get good reception with, and i'm not getting many channels tuned.

BUT I can add channels custom, if I knew what the channel frequency was. SO, how do I find a channel's frequency(local? or do Comp TV tuners run on a diff circiut?)

Or, more so, how can I make the TV tuner do everything a REAL TV does.

Sorry I'm kinda new at the whole new TV comp tech.

Thanks!

This is my situation - I have 4 Klipsch Synergy SLX wall mountable speakers. I plan on using them for the front r/l and center with the 4th a possible rear center if I go 6.1 instead of 5.1 (otherwise I will use the 4th for my center downstairs). How important is it that my sub wolfer and rear l/r speakers are also Klipsch? Also, my 'media' room will be 15x18 - would I be improving sound very much w/6.1 opposed to 5.1 (all 3 rear speakers would have to be on the wall behind the sofa)

My room mate blew out one of my speakers, so i'm gonna have him replace em both. Currently i have 2 Sonny SS-U 3030's (6 1/2" 2 way system) hooked up to my Pioneer Vsx-406. I use my stereo for everything, movies, video games, music.

What's the best speakers to get for under $80? If you can find something with a sub that'd be okay too. I dont know much about speakers, but i want something with decent bass.

Thanks!

My LCD tv is about 5ft from the floor. I want to mount my center, front-left, and front-right speakers above it. Is that too high for good sound?

i'm trying to buy a home theater system, but not sure how to tell if it's good quality? "1080p upconversion: When connected to an HDTV via HDMI connection, the DVD player digitally “up-converts” the resolution of standard DVDs to 1080p high definition for super-sharp images. "- this only works when you have an hdtv right? so the 480p is ok for a regular tv?. plus... what difference does it make the amount of watts it has? does it mean the higher the watts the better the sound? Help!!!!

My question is, my dynamic control on the receiver is set to low, this seems to sound pretty good, in fact the best out of any calibration settings ive ever done. Should I leave the settings there and if so, I lose a little detail, so should i boost up the treble also? Does anyone have tips on setting up a big system in a small room?

My system consist of..

My fronts...Definitive Technology Speakers
My center....Definitive Technology
My subwoofer....Velodyne
My Receiver...Pioneer elite
My DVD player...Denon
My Surrounds...Definitive speakers
Cabling...all audioquest

I am pretty sure its not a cable thing, and all my connections are solid.

FOr Sound is a Coaxial cable better or an Optical cable?
