trouble is static in the sound. Is there any way to fix this? The
tape is an original from Warner Music Video. It is not a copy.

Im not really after the playstation 3 for games but for the Blu Ray Player . Should i get Playstation 3 or Just normal Blu ray player ?

iv decided to get a HD upscaling dvd player as i have a huge dvd collection and so im not ready to crossover to full HD-DVD yet. i have a good samsung lcd HDTV up to 1080i and i have narrowed down my search to two dvd players

the samsung HD-870
up scaling,matches my tv,digital audio out,

or

slimline pro 700. priced at £41.99 both are on ebay for very good prices about £50 the slimline pro is multi region and has progressive scan and upscales to 1080p. 1080p is useless to me at the moment as my HD tv doesnt support it but i may get one in the future

If I get an AV receiver that has HDMI input/output and connect a satellite receiver or dvd player via HDMI, does the receiver process the audio that way also or will I need a separate connection (optical for example)?

Ohms and speakers, I have a receiver that lets me choose whether I have 4, 6 or 8ohm speakers. My speakers are rated 4-8 ohms. This is a 5.1 surround. What would be best and why? What difference does it make when setting my receiver to different ohms ratings?

I have a Yamaha R-V1105 receiver shutting off intermittently when turn on, it happens recently (around 2 months ago). Also i can see the indicator lights goes dim when i turn up the volume before it shuts off. whats wrong? Have it more than 7 years now. Dont want to buy a new one. I am planning to buy a good pioneer amplifier with the Jamo i300 system. I assume that the music – coming from my iPod – will be pretty good. But can I also you the Jamo speakers (and the subwoofer) for when watching a DVD on HD TV? How good would be the sound? And last but not least, can I add 3 more White cube Jamo speakers (or Bose for example) to create a 5.1 system and get a good surround sound system? Thanks.
