what do you think of Energy Sound systems?

Are you talking about "Energy Speakers"? If so, they are great.

Many years ago the Canadian government invested money in a university to study acoustics and sound reproduction. Five years later, Canadian speaker companies started producing speakers that were as accurate and detailed as other speakers costing twice as much. Energy was one of these brands.

Dont let the lower price or the Retail availability fool you. These speakers are quite good and get good ratings from the review magazines.


Robert has a point - people are used to particular 'flavors' and speakers tend to have 'flavor' as well. You should go audition some Energy speakers in the store if possible to make sure it matches what You think is good.

Example: People who own Klipsch speakers tend to re-buy Klipsch because they are used to the horn sound. Other speakers sound 'different' which is perceived as 'bad'.

But I have found that this applies to Music, but it's much less a factor for Home Theater speakers. For home theater - you could buy speakers over the internet without an audition and get something you would enjoy.

When I bought my speakers, Energy was my first choice brand of speakers until I spent a rainy afternoon in a demo room with some Definitive Technology speakers. I wound up buying the set, but I would have been happy with the Energy units.

I have never listened to Energy Speakers,although they have had good reviews.When it comes to buying equipment, you are the boss.It does not matter what anyone says about HI. FI. gear ,it is what appeals and sounds best to your ears that matters.No two people are exactly the same when it comes to sound quality preference.Never rely on other peoples
suggestions, unless you have listened and agree with them.

Have never listened to Energy speakers, but every time I read a review of their speaker systems, I have always read good reviews of their system. They also have a good reputation of good value for their speaker system.
I would highly recommend their speakers.
