my room size is 30 ft. x 10 ft.

the packages im looking at are
1) denon - AVR1507 amp + boston ms-4000s speakers : 32,500 Rs.
http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3252.asp

http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=1363481( only the speakers)

2) Yamaha Rx-V361 amp +Jamo A102 speakers : 36,500 Rs.
http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/av/products/ht/rxv361.html

3) Marantz SR- 301 amp + Jamo A 102 speakers : Rs. 36,000
http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=1363481 ( only the amp)

The bass in the jamo speakers is amazing . It has a 200 W active downfiring woofer. But the mid range and high range sound from it was ok.
The overall sound from boston was really good .. better than the jamo. The only thing is jamo has an amazing woofer.

Please help me decide . If there are any other deals in a similar budget then please let me know

i have a 46 inch HDTV, it has a few component jacks in the back. i have my ps3 and xbox 360 hooked into those. im using optical cable to run the audio from my ps3 to play through my surround sound. now on my 360, i had it hooked up onto the front of my receiver, but the jack stopped working a few days ago so i decided to just hook up the component cables. now how would i go about getting my 360 to play thru the surround sound speakers? would s-video cables do the job because im not sure the 360 has a s-video jack on the actual system itself.

Is there a product that you can plug RCA (red/white) cables into, that allows you to remotely control volume? My stereo system is old and dosn't support remote controls.

Thanks

I have 720p dlp theater projector (not rear). I ahve been looking at the hd dvd and blu-ray players.

I was trying to figure out how to go about incorporating one into my theater.. whether through htpc or stand alone.

I was reading and then realized that there are only about 320 titles on each standard..

Am I better off just getting a good upconverting dvd until there are more titles available...

I use netflix for dvds and they do offer movies in hd or bd.

maybe about 2 years.. They should cost alot less by then too.

My current Sony DVD/Receiver has no digital audio inputs. I have an HDTV and digital cable, and I'll be getting a PS3 in the next couple months. I'd like to take advantage of the surround sound from HD channels and the digital audio from the PS3, so that would require 2 inputs on the receiver. Bye bye DVD player/receiver that I have now....

I don't really want the receiver to have a DVD player since I'll have the PS3, but if it does, whatever. Can anyone recommend some "starter" receivers that meet my needs? Money is tight, so I say "starter' meaning nothing too over the top and expensive.

So I recently bought Insignia 5.1 home theatre speaker system which to my surprise only came with 5 speakers and one subwoofer lacking the DVD player. I have one Sony single disc DVD player DVPNS55P/B which has only two RCA sockets (L and R) in the back. Is it feasible to hook up my 5 Speakers and 1 sub cables to the DVD player wihthout separately buying the 5.1 channel box. Thanks

I have everything in place (finally) for my home theater except for a sub-woofer. I will have 5 Klipsch Synergy SLX speakers for front l/r, center and surround. I have decided on the Onkyo TX SR605 receiver. Do I need to stick with a Klipsch Synergy series sub - the reviews I have read on the 10 and 12 are not great. How important is the quality of the sub to the rest of my system?

Hi-I have a TV and it looks like the only audio out is something called SPDIF. I am using an audio receiver that takes the white/red RCA inputs. Is there any way to get my TV to come in through the audio receiver?

The JVC gets rave reviews, not a latest release model but some of the highest HTIB reviews I've seen for it's midlevel HTIB niche (http://reviews.cnet.com/home-theater-systems/jvc-th-c6/4505-6740_7-31392577.html?tag=prod.txt.1). I can get it NIB for great $. Other choice I'm looking at is Samsung HT-X70. What I want to know is does the HDMI capability of the Samsung tip the scales (JVC lacks this, S-video would be the connectivity). I really am leaning toward the JVC, yet I dont want to cheat myself if the HDMI is really such a value added feature...(can I really tell the difference between that and the S-video, I wonder?) I just bought a Panasonic plasma TH-50PX75U and wish to optimize the experience, yet perhaps only the most discerning eyes/ears would note any difference. IS the HMDI a "must have" to mate up w/ latest plasma HD models? Again, the JVC TH-C6 is just gushed over in reviews I've seen, but no HMDI. Thoughts appreciated

I only use the cable that came with the Xbox for the console itself (is that component?) What would give the best HD performance to a plasma TV? I have 2 HDMI sockets. I read a few reviews and people were whinging about poor picture with the wrong cables. Many Thanks

I know HDMI cable can deliver 720p or 1080i. What about the other types of interconnect?

SCART
Standard Video (yellow plug)
YPbPr
S-Video
Composite video

Basically I've just got an HDTV and want to find the best way to reconnect my digital TV box (SCART out only), my DVD player (HDMI is probably the best output here) and my Wii (not a clue as t the best ouput).
