What specs should I look at if upgrading my home audio receiver? I'm worried that my current speakers aren't going to be powerful enough.

Is it possible to reverse a switcher so that I can instead select which T.V. I use? (Hooking up the input to the output and the output to the input.)

The way I would do this is by using male/male cables from the (originally) input to each T.V. and a female/female adapter on the (originally) output to be able to plug in my input.

Another way of putting this question: Does data travel both ways through an input switcher?

Sony, Nikon, or Canon...preferably...or the best

I need a camera with little to NO noise/grain...
and with near PERFECT picture quality...
I know that the best bet is SLR....but I do not want an SLR...hence the words "near PERFECT"

I tried the Canon SX100is...(8mp 10x optical zoom) for $299 and it SUCKED!!! extremely grainy, even on LOW iso...and picture quality was HORRIBLE

and then I tried the Sony cybershot dsc t 70 (about 8mp) for $299 and it was WORSE than my sony cybershot 4mp

Just bought a Toshiba hda3 and hooked a hdmi to dvi cable to my westinghouse TV. There is no sound. I changed the settings on the player to match the tv but still nothing. All I have left is to update the firmware but having trouble hooking it to the net. Not getting a gateway. Any ideas on the sound problem besides the firmware?

I decided to get themonitor RS! speakers. But when it comes to integrated amp, I am debating to get either the marants or NAD ones, they both cost almost the same , but the NAD has a s/n of 100 db and the Marantz a s/n of 88 db. Will that make a big difference to the audio quality ? What do you suggest ? I couldn't compare them side by side since the vendors are different. Any suggestion ?

My entire system is inside a cabinet built into the wall. I have two options for the powered subwoofer - (1) to place it on the floor outside the cabinet. This requires a wire to be drawn out from the cabinet and doesn't look good. (2) to place it on top of the cabinet against the wall. This looks far better, but does it compromise the bass since it is coming from the top rather than from the floor?

I recently picked up an onkyo 304 with 5.1 channels. My new hd-dvd can output 7.1 via hdmi or 5.1 via optical..

Is it worth it to upgrade a new receiver to get those two additoinal channels or not so much?

I am coming form just a 2 channel and the 5.1 is simply amazing to me.
