You would like about a 20-30 degree angle from the center.

But I have had mine only 15 degrees out and it sounds great.

Try to get room around the L/R speakers. The cabinets do radiate sound and giving some space makes a difference.

TOE IN:

Use a laser pointer to see where the L/R speakers are pointing. You have 3 choices about where the sound from the 2 speakers should intersect:

A) 2 ft in front of the center seat
B) Focused on the center seat
C) 2 ft behind the center seat

Your room and speakers are different and you just have to play with the different amounts of toe-in.

CENTER: Use the laser pointer to make sure the center points at your head. Use rubber door-wedges, rubber erasers or even paperback books to angle the speaker if needed.

HEIGHT: Ideally, the tweeters on all the speakers would be at the same height. However, in some rooms (including mine) this would put the rear speaker right next to someones head at the back of the room. In this situation it is better to wall-mount the speakers up to get some distance.

What model of speaker?

Is it a tower or bookshelf?

Are they electrostatic, ribbon element, direct driver, 2 way, 3 way, etc..?

If you have a specific model, full room dimensions, model of amp and listening preferences, then there can be some help.
