I only use the cable that came with the Xbox for the console itself (is that component?) What would give the best HD performance to a plasma TV? I have 2 HDMI sockets. I read a few reviews and people were whinging about poor picture with the wrong cables. Many Thanks

HDMI is your best way to go. These digital signals are very insensitive to the 'quality' of the cable for modest run lengths. (You need slightly better cables for runs over 15 ft with HDMI).

Good component cables made for HD frequencies can be bought for about $50, but the HDMI cables are cheaper and carry both audio and video.

My favorite places for cables are listed below:

If you use the regular yellow, white and red a/v cables you will not notice any difference from regular dvd.....you need to use either component video (green, blue and red video cables) or if you have a elite xbox 360 use an HDMI cable.
