Someone said that video game systems cause havok on big TVs. Does this mean that the picture is crappy or it acutally hurts the TV in some way. Thanks.

As long as you dont leave the game on pause for a long time, your TV will be fine. Most TVs are afflicted by "ghosting" where the image has been displayed for so long that it "sticks" on the screen - even when changing the channel, a ghost of the paused screen is still there. If you turn the TV off when its paused, you can avoid this issue.

The old CRT tubes, turned up super-bright and after weeks and weeks of old-stype video games (with fixed areas on the screen) could burn in.

This is not a problem with modern DLP or LCD screens.

Plasma displays like in Bars do get burn in with "ESPN" logos and the like, but they are turned up super-bright and stay on 18+ hours a day on the single channel.

Just turn down the brightness and dont leave the screen on with the game for weeks at a time and you should not have a problem.

Like the others said. It used to be more of a problem with earlier sets from years ago, but you don't need to worry about it anymore.
