Those cubes are basically a single, 4-inch tweeter. Any receiver can deliver power.

But those speakers are designed to work with a "Bass Module" which does some tricks to the sound to make up for the compromise that went into trying to make a single tweeter in a plastic cube simulate what real speakers do with 2-3 drivers and an enclosure.

Dont get me wrong. Bose does more with a 4" tweeter than any company in the world. But there is a limit to what you can do with just a 4" tweeter.

You really should get the matching "Bass Module" to make those speakers sound good. Hit Ebay or Craigslist.

SirBobX is correct. These speakers are designed to be used with the acoustimass bass module. In the bass module is where all the equalization takes place. You can still use these speakers without it, however, bose voids the 5 year warranty on the speakers if not used with the module. I own a bose AM10 and power it with an Onkyo amp. If you go to any Bose store pay attention to what they use to power everything in there....ONKYO.... occasionally you will find a few components from Harmon Kardon. I have been to three different Bose stores and they all recommend using Onkyo receivers with their product.

Yes power those babies!
dont listen to those silly people who think that Bose are crap. They just cant afford them and want to bash them. So power em up, enjoy them, and show them off!
oh and upgrade to these when you're ready for the surround sound of Bose
