My room mate blew out one of my speakers, so i'm gonna have him replace em both. Currently i have 2 Sonny SS-U 3030's (6 1/2" 2 way system) hooked up to my Pioneer Vsx-406. I use my stereo for everything, movies, video games, music.
What's the best speakers to get for under $80? If you can find something with a sub that'd be okay too. I dont know much about speakers, but i want something with decent bass.

actually, scratch the 80$ limit.
Preferably, anything decent below 60$, but if it stay's under 80$ that's fine.

You are not really going to find any retail speaker that is halfway accurate for $80.
Your best bet is to hit your local craigslist and look for someone getting rid of their speakers. You might luck out and find someone selling a good computer set of speakers like a Logitech THX set for $100 with a self-powered subwoofer.

Wow, a $60-$80 limit for two speakers and a sub? Good luck!!! Maybe you can find some cheap China made off brand or better yet pick up some computer speakers like a 2.1 system and get an adaptor to go from mini 1/8" to two RCA's.

if your roomate blew your one of your speakers then he should replace them. as far as 60 bucks for a decent set, good luck! not unless you know a crackhead looking to sell a decent pair cheap to get his fix or "hot" set of speakers your not gonna get decent bass from anything in that price range

Have you thought about wireless speakers?
They are the best for sound quality improvement :)
