Everything you read says not to get tower speakers for a small apartment. Is that just because of the space they take up? Or do you need big spaces for tower speakers to work. My apartment has vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. Would tower speakers work?

I never heard that!

Empirical data suggests form follows function, a large tower speaker will sound better than a bookshelf of comparable specs given ideal parameters. But how often do we have ideal situations? The neighbor issue comes to mind. Don't discount a good bookshelf speaker though. If space is a premium then get a better set of bookshelf speaker than a tower set. But for full range you need to replicate that lower end.

In any case that sounds like a great place to have a good tower speaker, but you need to listen to several models before settling on which is better for you.

I really think it is a space issue in regards to the towers and not a audio performance issue.

Size is perhaps the main issue with large speakers

in a small apartment. The next is usually too much

bass to disturb the neighbors. However, if you don't

have those issues in your apartment, I so no other

reason why towers cannot give you excellent sound.

HELPFUL HINT: Find a pair of loudspeakers that

will give you enough options for placement to allow

you to get the best sound from the speakers (i.e.

so you will have enough space to move around).

Hi .When it comes to selecting loudspeakers, the sound quality you are happy with always comes first.Size has nothing to do with it.

They do, but here is a better solution for smaller places.
