Im going to be putting together a stereo system and im looking for professional speakers, not stuff like sony or bose, but the good stuff like bag end. Does anyone else know of any other brands that are along the lines of bag end, because im trying to keep my costs down, but if i have to, ill spring for the bag ends.

The reason i ask is my friend does professional audio recording and he recommended the aformentioned speakers but they are a bit pricey, so im trying to find something comparable.

The room is 13x13, still trying to find a good amp, i listen to my music pretty loud, i listen to all different types but mostly rock, metal, industrial and psytrance

As far as what type of sound i like, i want to hear everything, from the highs to the lows and everything in between.

Never heard Bag End speakers but from my quick search, they seem to have mostly commercial application speakers which would not be my choice for a music room. That's one.

Two, I never suggest a specific brand as everyone hears differently and who knows what is available in your local store. I always tell people to go to a high-end stereo store (forget Best Buy and the likes) and to listen to speakers. It may surprise you but they do have excellent speakers that are also affordable. Sometimes you can also find a good deal on a pair they just want to get rid of. Don't buy just for that reason, though.

But you are not looking for professional speakers. Most of us listening to music are not professional listeners. You are looking for good speakers.

I listen to speakers with classical music which gives a wide range of instruments to hear and with acoustic jazz with a female singer. Rock, country, hip-hop, etc have too much built-in distortion to be really good when judging speakers. Of course, you have to know what the instruments you are listening to are supposed to sound like.

Good luck with your search.

Hi.I need more information to help you.

[1] how big is your room?
[2] what amplifier are you going to use?
[3] how loud do you listen?
[4] what type of music do you like?
[5] what type of speaker sound do you like? (bright, midrange presence, more bass,or neutral.)

In order to provide a complete and faithful musical experience,a speaker should preserve all of several independent musical characteristics such as correct tonal balance, imaging, clarity, dynamic range and bass response

How big is your room, what will you be powering them with, what are your listening preferences (loud/detailed/lots of bass)?

Way too many variables to answer your question accurately.
