So yup... I'm getting one tomorrow, after a long decision of wondering if I should get an Xbox 360 or a PS3... played both of them for a few hours last week at my cousins and decided that a PS3 is definitely what I want. Plus I have a PS2 and I liked that a lot...

So could you please tell me the basics, what should I know? Like setting it up, is it difficult? And I know an update just came out for it, how do I do that? And anything extra you think would be helpful for me to know!

I am looking into buying the ps3
is the 80 gig with motor storm included for 499 a good buy?
I heard they downgraded the system to drop the price but would it still be ok?
No red ring like xbox360 i hope.
Or should i just go with the 40 gig with spider man 3 blue ray dvd for 399
I'm not looking to spend alot but i want something that will last.
Unlike my crappy xbox360 with the red ring 2 times!!!!
Now i cant watch hd dvds or play games....
Thinking of selling all my 360 stuff and getting a ps3

Hi everyone,
My sister's birthday is coming up, and we were thinking of getting her a ps3, and I have a few questions before we do.
1- Is there is 20g one? the smallest one I am finding online is the 40g one for $400... I am trying to spend about $300. Is this possible?
2- If they do have a 20g, and i end up getting it, will we be able to expand the memory later on?
3-Would buying a Wii be a better investment than the ps3?

I have a few questions about the PS3 and it's internet capabilities. I am thinking of getting one for Christmas, but would like alittle info about it first.

1.Can it do all types of sites, because I know that the PSP cannot access all sites. (i.e.-Myspace, erowid.com, youtube.com, runescape.com, ect.)
2.Is it fast, or does it lag when connected to the internet?
3.Does it cost anything to access the internet via my PS3, well, any more than I already pay.
4.And the biggest question of all, can I connect it to the internet via wi-fi? I have a wi-fi signal, and Basically can it pick up the wi-fi, or do I have to buy a router, or does it need to be plugged into a phone jack?

yestarday....(the day assasins creed came out) my ps3 liek quit working. the night before....i was downloading a update to play online..but the internet messed up...and it got about halfway downlaoded with the update but it stopped.i dunno if thats wat messed it up or wat. but the update was just to sign in....to play online..i was playing the game itself(not online) on my ps3 so the update wasnt required. and when i put a game disc in now..it wont read it or give me the option to play it...??? i restored it all and evrything but still nothing. i put a cleaning disc in it but that didnt help either. it does read music cd's though..but not games....=[ does anyone know hwo to fix this?

I have seen a screeshot where a player was being interviewed ( http://uk.media.ps3.ign.com/media/775/775498/img_4632250.html ) and another was signing autographs ( http://uk.media.ps3.ign.com/media/775/775498/img_4832127.html ) : do the players actually talk/ does some kind of text appear? are these just pictires or a the actual videos in the master league? theses were the picture that intrigued me the most ( a bit of info on them would be welcome). I think i might have also seen a screenshot where what looked to be a manager character was being edited, is there a manger on the sidelines? can you import a face onto that manager? is it true you can edit you stadium (i.e build it, modify shape, etc...)? thanks
