I have a few questions about the PS3 and it's internet capabilities. I am thinking of getting one for Christmas, but would like alittle info about it first.
1.Can it do all types of sites, because I know that the PSP cannot access all sites. (i.e.-Myspace, erowid.com, youtube.com, runescape.com, ect.)
2.Is it fast, or does it lag when connected to the internet?
3.Does it cost anything to access the internet via my PS3, well, any more than I already pay.
4.And the biggest question of all, can I connect it to the internet via wi-fi? I have a wi-fi signal, and Basically can it pick up the wi-fi, or do I have to buy a router, or does it need to be plugged into a phone jack?

The PS3 does not lag when it's online. As long as you have a good connection, the online connection will fast as well.
It does not cost anything to use the PS3's web browser. The PS3 has free online as well.
All of the current PS3 models that are still being sold (40GB, 60GB, and 80GB) all have built in WiFi so you do not have to buy a separate wireless adapter for it like the Xbox 360. You can play games online wirelessly and use the PS3's web browser by a wireless connection as well.
The PS3 can also access the majority of websites, but I'm not sure about MySpace and Youtube because I never went to those sites on my PS3. I'm not sure if you can play videos on Youtube though. I would check and see if you can watch videos, but I'm having some Internet connnection problems right now, and I can't get online with my PS3.
I hope that you decide to get the PS3 for Christmas, it's an awesome gaming machine.

The 40 gig DOES have wireless. Go to the PS3 website and see for yourself.
