I made my mind to buy Canon. But what is the real difference between the EOS 400D and the EOS 30D?? I shoot a lot of landscapes, urban architecture, some portraits and a bit of macro both in B&W and colours.

I have to say I am rather shocked at the prices of Leica digital cameras compared to other cameras of similar power and function from other brands. Are these camera prices really justified? $500 for a 7.2 MP Leica C-Lux? How good are these digital cameras?

When I download my pictures from my sony alpha 100. I notice they are only at 72 dpi. Is there a way to change the settings on the camera on the way my pictures are saved on the memory card to 300dpi?

So I know cramming more and more megapixels on a given sensor (cough cough the crappy nikon s50c I tried out that puts 7mp on a 1/2.5" sensor). If you just turn down the megapixels (like if i had just set it to 3mp) would it put the quality to as htough the sensor were made for those settings?

I have a kodak easy share camera that i'm not happy with. I'm an avid picture taker - subject is usually my daughter or step-kids. I want a picture that is great overall - doesn't get dark in a gym (why is that??), can take good pics of motion (mine sucks even on the sports setting). Also I don't want to spend $1000 either.

I bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT and its got a 58mm lens. I am looking at a bunch of filters and not sure what to get. There is the polarizer andt then a circular polarizer. Also, there are many uv filters. what ones should i get? i take all kinds of pictures: indoors, outdoors, sunny days, gloomy days, and of landscapes. Please suggest a filter for each type of setting. thanks a lot.

I am just starting out with DSLR and I would like to get started with both landscape and 'family shots'. Will these two lenses give me great shots? I will save up for a 70 - 300 VR down the track but need both close and zoom lenses now.

I know nothing about digital slr cameras. My cousin is all about photography and will be graduating from high school in a few days. The whole family is going to pitch in to buy him a good camera and some good lenses.

We all agree to buy him the D80, but we would like to know which lenses to buy him.

We've heard him talk about macro lenses, portrait lenses, and photojournalism lenses. He takes pretty good pictures with his old camera, he actually shot his friend's sister's wedding with it and they turned out very nice... kind of professional looking.

Can anyone please suggest which lenses to buy him if he likes those types of photography? (Photojournalism, macro, wedding, portrait) Thank you very much!
