I just answered your last question for fast money and this question makes me think that you are a born photographer! I feel that you would have a wonderful experience going to real camera store ( B&H Photo, Adarama, Ritz or Sammy's Camera ) to buy your camera. Real camera stores only sell cameras, accessories and nothing else. There you can take all the time you need to handle and test all the different cameras and lenses. Plus these stores have professional photographic sales people to help you answer all your questions. So ask your parents to take you to one. You'll love it.

Try to stay with a name brand. Look at Canon, (maybe a bit higher than your price range) Nikon, Olympus, and Kodak. Fuji mid-level and higher cameras are good, but their entry level cameras are not robust at all. Get a bigger memory card, you might find a special with a memory card and case included. Shop at your local big box or camera store like WalMart, BestBuy, etc etc. Be very very careful if you buy on-line. Check www.bhphoto first. They are a legitimate company and will not try to cheat you.
Good luck in camera hunting!
