I am looking into getting a digital camera and I dont really know where to start. I don't need anything fancy I will probably get it a Target or somethig, in fact price is more of a concern, I was thinking of spending aroung $120.00, but there are so many out there with so many features. How do I know how many megapixel's is enough and what about optical zoom, and (sorry this might sound really dumb) don't you have to buy something like a memory card? How do I know how much memory I need and what one will be compatable with the camera?

I am stopping over in both for a few days in January and want to get the best deal on a new digital (with a genuine warranty). If you know the names of any shops or streets in either of these places I could try would also be really helpful.

Bought a Sony 3 weeks ago.Went to local store to ask if I gave them my memory card can they tell me how sharp the photo is blowing it up 8X10. Their answer was NO. Only after they blow it up can they tell me.Well isn,t that after the fact? Back in 35mm days I looked through 8X10 magnifing glass and didn,t have to ask anybody how sharp the slide was. That was only 5 weeks ago. I will transfer these shots on camera to computer, but I don't think that that is really magnifying picture. Where am I going wrong?

I am looking to buy a digicam for thanksgiving for myself. Based on my needs, I guess I would need a 5 MP camera with a memory of about 256MB. There are several products flooding the market and I am confused on which one to choose and from where to buy. Should I go for a Canon or a Samsung or a Panasonic?
Should I base my choice on the cost only as all the brands have various prices with the same specs?
Also which would be the best place to buy one? CircuitCity or Walmart or Office Depot or Target? (these are the only places accessible to me).

What is the cheapest high quality SLR camera? I really want a professional camera at an affordable price so that my parents wouldn't mind getting me one for Christmas or my Birthday coming up in December.

I'm going on a trip next spring break to Rome, and I want to take great photos. I currently have a kodak easyshare, and not very satisfied with it. Does anyone know what are the best cameras for fantastic photos. I was thinking of getting a Canon EOS. I dont really care for the look of the camera. I care about the quality of the photos it takes. Requirements of a digital camera for me is that it HAS to have digital image stabilization, and bright capture technology. Does anyone know a really good camera for taking pictures when traveling? The zoom does not have to be that much really. And I want it to be at least 6 or 7 megapixels.
Please, help. My price range of a camera is about 300-700 bucks.

I'm having trouble deciding which camera is better, the Finepix S9000 or the Finepix S9100. Whats your opinion? And any advice I can get is great.

I want it to be 5MP or more with a clear, crisp picture. I want the ability to use optical zoom, NOT digital zoom. I want to save to a memory card (not a hard drive or a CD). I want there to be as little lag time as possible between shots (Taking pics of kids and pets.) I do not care about special effects (sepia, B&W, etc.)

I would appreciate recommendations for the smaller sized cameras, as well as digital SLRs.
