No, you need to buy the faster card.
I recommend Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III, which is the best card to use, because it will ensure fast camera operation, which you definitely need for shooting 'movies' at 640x480 at 30fps, and also Fast Frame Rate movies & also continuous mode etc.
If you use the standard card...your camera will struggle.
1GB or 2GB is fine.

I agree with Petra about the higher speed card. You can certainly "get by" with a slower card, but you will then complain about recovery time between shots or have problems if you shoot video.
Like Petra, I recommend a genuine Sandisk Ultra II (60X) or Extreme III (133X) of at least 1GB. Lexar is another excellent card supplier and they have the "Professional" 133X as well as the Platinum 80X to choose from. The 60-80X speed would be just fine, but if the price is close, you may as well go for the faster card. Both Lexar and Sandisk come with image recovery software and limited lifetime warranties.

It depends on how much photography you do, how high the resolution you're shooting at (big photos mean more storage per photo) and how much of what you shoot is video clips, which can gobble up a lot of storage space in a hurry. Two gigs is a lot of storage if you're just shooting a party or a day with your friends. If you're going on a vacation or plan on shooting a lot of large pix then you might want to bring along a backup card or two just to be sure. I tend to shoot large photos and use a 1gig card with a couple of smaller backup cards and that usually does the trick for me.

It has plenty of storage and I have one myself. I find it about the right size as I combine taking pictures with my canon as well as short videos with the camera of my grandson playing sports. I than take the movie portions and put them into a single movie track and give it to him as a DVD and the pictures on a CD.
I have yet to use even half and have taken a hundred or more pictures and a 15 minute movie that last time I used it.

in my opinion 2GB is more than enough. I use a 256MB and can take about 130 pictures at 5 Megapixels.
