sorry ill explain a little more.
SLR cameras work different from the point and click cameras. When you look through the viewfinder you are actually looking through the cameras lens. in point and click cameras you look through a viewfinder that has a opening on the front of the camera that is different from the lens.
The viewfinder is the best and most accurate way to get the picture correct before pulling the trigger.

sorry it isn't possible I know I wish that it were ...I had an Olympus SP500UZ and using the 2.5" display was great but the D80 is just so much more camera I can live without aiming with the display...

The only DSLR that CAN take from the LCD is the Olympus
E-330.

The LCD is only there for you to review pictures you have taken and to access the camera's menu system.

read your manual, but probably not possible cause the lcd only displays images from the compact flash card
