VicSEO always mentions the fact that Pentax SLR's have shake reduction built into the camera.

On Nikon VR and Canon IS lenses, there are two modes of stabilization. One is for those times when you are trying to hold still and take a picture of a stationary object. The other is for those times when you are trying to pan along with a moving object or when you are in a moving vehicle trying to take a picture.

I assume the shake reduction can be turned off for those times when you prefer not to use it, but how does Pentax address the issue of needing different algorithms for shake reduction for different situations? If this is not dealt with in the camera properly, I highly prefer the Nikon-Canon approach to putting it all in the lens and giving you the option of choosing the proper mode.

When I change the Iris it changes the f-stop. It also makes the picture brighter or darker. I thought the f-stop changed how blurry things that were out of focus are. I'm wanting to do just that but I don't know how. How can I change the blurriness of out of focus objects on the Canon XL2?

We already have surround sound built in out living room, but how do I make it work with the Sony Grand Wega I just bought?

There's a couple sockets(?) on the wall - red and black - that have "subwoofer" and "low level" on them as well as tabs(?) that say "front", "center", etc.

I just purchased a new tv and dvd player. I have no cable so I only watch DVDs. Whenever I am watching DVDs, there is a static noise that occurrs whenever there is an orange or red colour on the screen. However, I also have a nintendo wii which has a veriety of games with bright colours - none of which make the same static sounds when red or orange is present. Is this an issue with the television? the televisions speakers? or with the DVD player? I've played the DVD's on my computer so I know it isn't them.
Thanks
