I just purchased a new tv and dvd player. I have no cable so I only watch DVDs. Whenever I am watching DVDs, there is a static noise that occurrs whenever there is an orange or red colour on the screen. However, I also have a nintendo wii which has a veriety of games with bright colours - none of which make the same static sounds when red or orange is present. Is this an issue with the television? the televisions speakers? or with the DVD player? I've played the DVD's on my computer so I know it isn't them.
Thanks

There might be some video processing at the DVD player that is increasing the picture's warmth, that's why the noise in strong red's and orange. The Signals are clipping when being decoded by your TV. Turn of picture enhancement at the DVD player / TV. My guess is that you are using a CRT based TV ..

Like the previous answer said, you get interference from your electric supply. I replaced my kettle lead on my tv with a Merlin Black Widow and the difference in the picture was excellent. Try looking on Ebay for the lead for around £50. They normally retail at £85
