My TV gets full cable but only shows the first 20 channels well. I auto programmed it but still shows static for the rest of the channels. Has anyone seen a case like this before? If so how can I fix it. I already auto programmed it 5 times.

I have a HD-Ready LCD Monitor (Westinghouse 1080p 42") and want to know my options but don't want to spend too much. I live in San Diego, CA 92131 (Scripps Ranch).

I can't have cable in my condo complex, so that leaves me with Satellite Dish and DirecTV. What would be the better option at a good price?

Also I hear about over-the-air HD signals which I believe is free right? How many channels, how reliable and good of reception can I get from that? What would I need and the costs involved (An antenna and a TV tuner video card)?

I mainly got this monitor so I can use my PC with it, watch DVDs, and plan to get a PS3 or/and xbox360. But it would be nice to have a few channels to watch some TV.

Please help me or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks.

is it a waster of money?
ALso, is a fm transmitter necessary. and what does it do ??

I am in India & I have an old Tape recorder of german 'Grundig' brand, around 35-40 years old. The one with tape on 2 big spools (I think we see there latest version while movie productions) unfortunately in non working condition & I also have a old typewriter around 50 year old of some 'Princess' company which has unique italic type (a letter typed with it appear as handwritten). Typewriter is working well, beside only 1 negligible problem.
I do not want to waste them by selling them in junk. How I can wisely get rid of both these items. thanks

if you buy a $2000, (or any tv, cable box, DVD player) today, in 2009 it won't be any good as it would need to be equipt (by law) with a device to be connected to a converter in order to work. for those who just have television, and no cable, or satillight tv won't be able to watch tv.

not only do you need a converter to watch tv. it will be required by law to have these.
is this really true?

i need a good camcorder under $400. it needs to be able to do the basic stuff, but it doesn't need to be the coolest trendiest technology out there, and it can be used. i don't really know the brands or the different specifications involved with the camcorder-buying process.......
