My TV gets full cable but only shows the first 20 channels well. I auto programmed it but still shows static for the rest of the channels. Has anyone seen a case like this before? If so how can I fix it. I already auto programmed it 5 times.

Many TV's have these settings: HRC,IRC,STD. Try all of them and see if that helps. Most cable TV companies use STD. If you're not sure, call your cable company and ask them. Can't think of what else it might be. Hope this helps.

There is a better than even chance this is a problem with the signal itself. Do you have another TV to check it with? If it is a signal problem, then it's up to the cable company to fix it.

It could be the TV's problem too. The TV has a few different components for each channel band. One of those components could be bad, which would affect a continuous band of channels. If so, I do not recommend repairing it.

You could replace the TV, or you could wire your TV input signal through a separate channel selector. VCR's, for example, frequently have their own channel selector. You would connect your cable to the VCR, then connect VCR video out to TV video in. Depending on the VCR and TV, you change channels using the VCR remote, then view the programs on INPUT1 or channel 3. The key is the TV channel selection never changes - it stays on one of the working (low) channels.

Are you connecting to a cable box? Maybe the box isn't authorized for the other channls and your cable company needs to send a signal to fix that...
